Whitehill TrailsFrequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our treks, safety, bookings, and preparation — answered simply and clearly.
No. Most Whitehill Trails treks are beginner-to-moderate. We brief and pace every group so participants can walk comfortably. Some high-altitude or technical routes require prior experience—check the specific trek page.
Basic fitness is enough for most of our treks. Regular walking, jogging, or cycling for a few weeks before the trek is recommended. We also share pre-trek training tips after booking.
Typical inclusions: accommodation (tents/guesthouses), all meals on trek days, certified local guides, kitchen staff, permits/forest fees, group camping equipment, mules/porters for common equipment, and first-aid kit. See each trek page for exact inclusions.
Usually exclusions are: personal trekking gear, travel to/from the trek start point, travel insurance, personal expenses (drinks, laundry, tips), and costs caused by weather or roadblocks. Check the package page for full details.
Use the Book / Contact buttons on the trek page, fill the inquiry form, or message us on WhatsApp. We confirm availability, send payment instructions, and provide a pre-departure checklist.
We accept online bank transfers, UPI, and major digital payment methods. For group or corporate bookings we can arrange invoice payments — contact us for details.
If we cancel due to weather or safety, you’ll receive a full refund or option to reschedule. For client cancellations, refund and reschedule terms depend on timing—refer to the cancellation policy on your booking confirmation.
We strongly recommend personal travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, high-altitude trekking, and evacuation. Insurance is mandatory for some advanced treks—see the specific package terms.
Yes — we provide shared camping gear such as tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, kitchen equipment and first-aid. Trekkers must bring personal items (daypack, trekking shoes, warm layers).
We provide a detailed packing list after booking. Essentials include sturdy trekking shoes, warm layers, rain gear, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, personal medication, and a charged power bank.
Children aged 10+ can join beginner treks with a parent/guardian. Fitness, consent forms, and parental supervision are required. Some routes are not suitable for children—check the trek details.
Yes. We maintain strict safety protocols, female-friendly sleeping arrangements when needed, experienced staff, and small group sizes to ensure comfort and safety for all guests.
We serve fresh, mostly vegetarian meals cooked locally—breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner are included. We cater to common dietary needs with advance notice.
Network is limited on many higher sections. BSNL or local networks may work in lower areas; however, do not rely on consistent coverage at camps or the summit.
Each trek has a certified leader and local guides, first-aid kit and oxygen cylinder, daily weather checks, and an emergency evacuation plan. We have local contacts for rapid escalation if needed.
Some regions require forest or local permits. We arrange necessary permits and include permit fees in the trek package where applicable.
Yes — we offer custom group itineraries for family, corporate or private groups. Tell us your dates, fitness level and comfort preferences and we’ll craft the route.
We follow a carry-in carry-out policy, discourage single-use plastic, support local communities and use small group sizes to minimize impact. Guests are requested to follow eco-guidelines shared during briefing.
For popular seasons and fixed departures, book 4–8 weeks in advance. For private groups or low-season treks, earlier booking helps secure guides and accommodations.
